This is the business toolkit for retail. Versions with the posters and stickers are in the post today.

This is the email from the City of York Council Leader:

Dear Business Partner,

With the recent changes in national guidance on social distancing, and as we fast approach the Government’s 15th June deadline for the reopening of non-essential retail, we want to help businesses adapt to the new changes in guidance. That is why I am sending the first part of our guidance for retailers; a document which provides some practical measures which can be implemented in premises to help keep staff and customers safe.

The pack has been created for business owners across the city, who operate premises where the public visit, so please do share this pack with your networks. You may already be offering these services, or you may be thinking about how you can operate your business safely in the future. The proposed measures are not an exhaustive list, as there may be other measures which you may want to implement in your business.

We are also producing a ‘reopening pack’ for businesses, containing posters, floor stickers, public health messages and other useful material. These will be designed to demonstrate our people-first approach here, supporting a friendly and welcoming customer experience, and complement the signage to be used across York.

As we work to put in the place the foundations for York’s economic recovery, it is incredibly important that the Council continues to work together with our partners, businesses, residents, and when the time is right, visitors – so people can once again have the confidence to enjoy our city safely.

As ever, I am thankful for your support and efforts to respond to the pandemic during these difficult times. Looking forward, York has such a range of assets to support a strong economic recovery and I’m confident that through our collective working, we can help create the right conditions to drive that recovery.

Best wishes,
Keith
