I wanted to share more details with you about our new campaign to help ‘keep York safe and open’ over the festive period, launching today.

Recently the Council has committed to provide hundreds of free face coverings for distribution in retail spaces, as thousands of visitors and shoppers are expected in York City Centre in the run up to the festive season.

Together with signage and posters for businesses to display, it is hoped the campaign, which launches today (19 November) will encourage residents, visitors and those who work in the city to continue with measures to reduce the spread of covid, including wearing face masks in crowded spaces, regular hand washing or using hand sanitiser, and keeping indoor spaces well ventilated if possible.

We’d be really grateful if you could help to increase the reach of the campaign by sharing social media assets on your channels and displaying posters.

Our Support Marshalls will be helping to distribute posters and face masks to city centre businesses for staff and customers over the coming days, either by sharing from the council’s accounts or by posting yourself.

I’ve attached social media visuals to this email, together with details of suggested wording for posts and alt text descriptions. Please see the press release for more details about the campaign Here

Posters and social media assets are also available at https://www.york.gov.uk/BusinessToolkit for you to print and download.

If you have any questions, please do get in touch. Many thanks in advance for your support and for helping to keep York safe and open this festive season.
