We have received the following advanced notice of the road closures taking place on Sunday 6th August 2023 to accommodate the York 10k.
The event will take place on 06/08/2023 with the Start and finish line located on the Knavesmire.
The route will be the same as 2022 with runners heading out from The Knavesmire onto Campleshon Road and Bishopthorpe Road, using Nunnery Lane towards the city centre. Runners will then head along the Ouse Bridge onto Spurrier Gate heading up Deangate and passing York Minster. Runners will then head down the River Ouse footpath and across the Millennium Bridge and doing a loop around Rowntree Park. Runners will then proceed to do an out and back on Bishopthorpe Road in front of the Chocolate Works before a further out and back alongside York Racecourse before heading back onto The Knavesmire.
The event will start at 09:30 with the last runner due to cross the finish line at approximately 11:45. Closures along the route will be in place on Saturday 5th August from 12:00 to accommodate the event build and will open no later than 15:00 on Sunday 6th August.
The remaining closures on 06/08/2023 around the route will come into force between 07:30 to 08:30 with the final closure re-opening for 13:00. We aim to open the roads on a rolling basis as soon as it is safe to do so. Please do note we also have the Mini and Junior run that takes place at 11:45 and will finish for 12:30. We apologise for any inconvenience the closures may cause. If you have any access requirements or questions about the closures, please do not hesitate to contact us.
